The lambda control is an optional tool which ensures constant combustion conditions in forehearth heating. Hereby the mixture can be set up in reducing, oxidising or near stoichiometric conditions without measurements and adjustment at the gas skids by hand. This significantly simplifies the production of high quality glass and coloured glass.
Furthermore, the lambda control is advantageous when the heating value of the gas fluctuates from time to time. The gas/air premix is analysed by a sensor. According to the gas composition and the required lambda value, the related quantity of air is adjusted.
