Nitrogen is the main component of the shield gas and therefore absolutely essential for the glass production.
The production of nitrogen is based on the cryogenic air separation into N2 and O2. With our international partners and market leaders, HORN® offers a nitrogen generating unit which is continuously feeding into production process.
The HORN® backup system based on liquid nitrogen storage tanks provides the required nitrogen also in case of power failures or during shutdown of the air separation and will be refilled by own produced liquid nitrogen from the air separation plant during normal operation.
