Side sealings consist of a steel box filled with mineral wool and are used to seal the gap between the bottom and roof casings. Installation and removal of the side sealings are done manually.
Side sealings can be standard and functional. Standard side sealings are used only for tin bath sealing. Function side sealings are used for sealing and installation of the process equipment, e.g. top rollers, coolers, etc.
Sealings should provide maximum gas tightness and the remaining gaps must be closed with the mineral wool and mixture of glass and fine refractory material.
