GENERAL
HORN provides SCADA systems with application software (Win CC) in order to optimize the advantages and the efficiency of the PLC control system at a glass melting tank.
The system is planned to control one furnace including distributor/forehearths on the basis of a programmable software. The software is installed and configured according to customer requirements. The coloured graphics illustrating the layout of the melting end, distributor/forehearths, controllers, alarms, etc., are created by HORN’s engineers to the exact needs of the user. Customer requests and special demands regarding the process can be integrated individually.
The PC based control and supervision is provided with the operating system Windows 7 and with the individually configurable visualisation system Win CC. The PC stations are connected to the PLC unit of the melting end / distributor / forehearths, thereby enabling the user to operate the entire furnace / distributor / forehearth system via the PC station in the most user friendly and convenient manner. The PLC can, however, run the process independently of the PC. This means that the PC can be temporarily out of order without stopping the process.
The alarm management system indicates exceeded values, malfunctions and failures on the monitor and printer. In addition, WinCC files the signals and selectively places them at the operator's disposal. The reporting system informs the operator about the intervention process and system signals history.
Values measured, e.g. temperature curves, can be easily stored and reconstructed during later production.
Three different password protected access levels guarantee protection against misuse. The system can be designed for use via a network when it is equipped with a web access server.
