The cooling of the narrow section can be done in two ways. One of them is the radiative cooling. This will be carried out by the exit end coolers. The target of this cooling method is to reduce the temperature of the glass ribbon to the optimum temperature for the lift out of the tin bath.
The cooling rails will be installed with an adjustable support to the cooler carriage. This carriage can be moved along the running rails. The cooling rails will enter the tin bath through the letterbox side sealing. If the cooler will be removed of the tin bath the side sealing will close the opening automatically. This process is helpful in order to prevent the penetration of ambient air into the tin bath.
The cooler carriage is driven by an electrical motor. The movement can be carried out at the control bottoms directly at the cooler or by remote control from the control room.
