Technical system planners specialising in utility and equipment engineering work mainly in our construction department, but also at the customer’s premises (in Germany or abroad) if they have to oversee or survey a site. They are involved in all phases of planning, design and implementation of utility engineering works in the field of glass foundries. They create CAD system drawings and models to meet the requirements of the department manager. They transform numbers and data into tables, technical drawings and diagrams. They calculate, for example heating or cooling loads, and dimension the equipment appropriately. Using the 3D models, they go on to produce drawings for the fabricators. Coordination of the assembly and the trades involved are also part of their responsibilities. They are also responsible for project documentation.
Production of precise drawings in accordance with standards requires a high degree of care and attention to detail. Knowledge in the fields of industrial practice and engineering is essential to produce drawings, schematics and perspectives. Mathematical knowledge is helpful, for example when calculating dimensions and parameters. Knowledge of physics is necessary to consider building physics and perform building services calculations.
